Geomatics Core Competencies

In this paper, we delve into the discussion of how geomatics is seen by different organizations in different places, how geomatics is compared to surveying and mapping, where geomatics professionals fit, and, specifically, what core competencies geomatics professionals are required to possess to survive in today's dynamic and competitive world. We also discuss geomatics curriculum structure in the United States and compare it to curriculum structures in other countries.
