Cladosporium hebeiense sp. nov., pathogenic on grape leaves in China
A new fungus in the Cladosporium herbarum complex, Cladosporium hebeiense, was isolated from leaf spots of Vitis vinifera in China. It produced short 0–1-septate ramoconidia that distinguished it from similar species. A multigene phylogenetic analysis
based on the internal transcribed spacer region (ITS), partial translation elongation factor 1-alpha (TEF 1-α) gene, and the actin gene (ACT) supported C. hebeiense as separate from the closely related C. ramotenellum. Pathogenicity testing confirmed that C. hebeiense
is a pathogen contributing to grape leaf spot disease.
