Objective: Our objective was to examine the factors that promote self-weighing more than once per week in a sample of Japanese adults. Methods: We had 800 completed a self-report questionnaire in 2014. Participants were categorized into 2 groups based on their self-weighing frequency; these groups were analyzed for correlations with factors that promote self-weighing using logistic regression and multivariate analyses. Results: Overall, 428 participants were placed in the "≥ 1 time/week" group. More men had weight scales at home, prior weight loss experience, and practiced ongoing weight control in the "≥ 1 time/week" group than in the "< 1 time/week" group. Conclusions: The presence of weight scales at home, prior weight loss experience, and practice of weight control were related to self-weighing one or more times per week.
